US President Donald Trump’s war in Iran could cost America trillions of dollars worth of investment from Gulf countries, an expert has claimed.

The President will attend a Cabinet meeting today to discuss the ongoing conflict.

An insider told Politico on Thursday that Iran’s strikes on Gulf neighbours could lead to a situation where Middle Eastern nations like the UAE and Saudi Arabia feel they cannot “invest the trillions of dollars the Gulf has promised to invest in the US.”

Another source added: “What has really freaked people out is that the Gulf Arabs have warned that they’re a couple weeks away from having to repatriate tens of billions of dollars in investments from the United States.

“When these guys do that, it is going to be immensely destabilizing and contradictory to the president’s investment goals.”
