Trump says Iran ‘totally defeated’ and ‘wants a deal’ | World | News
Donald Trump has claimed that Iran ‘wants a deal’ after they have been ‘totally defeated’.
His latest announcement comes after he earlier declared that the US has ‘obliterated’ every military target on an Iranian Island in “one of the most powerful bombing raids in the History of the Middle East “.
Writing on Truth Social again the US President commends the success of the US military, stating that although Iran allegedly want a deal he will not accept one.
His post reads: “The Fake News Media hates to report how well the United States Military has done against Iran, which is totally defeated and wants a deal – But not a deal that I would accept! Thank you for your attention to this matter.”
Trump asserted on Friday evening (March 13) that his nation’s forces had destroyed what he termed as “Iran’s crown jewel”. The US President added that “for reasons of decency” the US refrained from striking the island’s oil infrastructure.
Kharg Island is considered the country’s “oil lifeline” and in retaliation Iran has supposedly warned that any attack on its oil and energy infrastructure will lead to attacks on energy infrastructure owned by oil companies cooperating with the US in the area.
Until this raid, it had remained untouched by US and Israeli attacks.
During an interview broadcast by Fox News on Friday morning, the president insisted that capturing Kharg island was “not high on the list”.
However Trump continued, stating: “Who’d ask a question like that, and what fool would answer it?” before adding: “Let’s say I was going to do it or let’s say I wasn’t going to do it, why would I tell you?”.
The interview was filmed just 24 hours before the attack.
