UK weather maps show four cities being pummeled by snow | Weather | News

The UK is set to see snow hit four major cities next week with cold temperatures due to make their way across the country.

Brits should brace for wintery weather conditions which will mean some major cities could see snow as soon as Tuesday.

Some areas will be more impacted than others with the north due to experiencing more severe weather conditions.

While other areas could also see snow, Maps from WXCHARTS show that Manchester, Lincoln, Belfast and Aberdeen will be the main areas affected.

On Tuesday 7 January, maps show up to 3cm of snow per hour could be seen across the UK, especially around Manchester and Lincoln.

The north east will see cold temperatures and high chances of snow which will stretch from near Edinburgh to Manchester.

Across the Midlands and Wales, there will still be a chance of snow but less is likely to be seen with around 1cm per hour of snowfall.

In the south of England, most places will be unaffected as no snow is forecasted to hit the area.

According to the Met Office 5 day weather forecast, it says: “Becoming drier and colder once again on Monday and Tuesday with sunny spells and scattered wintry showers.

“Cloudier on Wednesday with hazy sunshine. Frost and icy patches likely overnight.”

Temperatures across the UK are expected to drop with freezing weather on its way – some parts of the country could be hit by a shocking -11C in just a few days.

In the Met Office’s weather outlook for Thursday 9 January to Saturday 18 January the forecaster is warning that it will be “cold initially, with widespread frost and an ongoing risk of ice”.
