A huge explosion has rocked the site of a US base in Bahrain as Iran launches retaliatory attacks following the US and Israel’s strikes on the country this morning. Footage has shown the moment a missile strikes the area where the US base is located in Manama, Bahrain’s capital.

According to the reports, a service center affiliated with the US Fifth Fleet in Bahrain also came under missile attack. Bahrain’s role in the region is significant, as it serves as a central US strategic partner in the Persian Gulf and hosts two major American naval commands in its capital, Manama: the US Navy’s Fifth Fleet headquarters and US Naval Forces Central Command. Footage released by Iranian media showed heavy smoke rising from the base area.

Bahrain’s Interior Ministry called on citizens and residents to “remain calm and head to the nearest safe place” after sirens were activated across the country. The ministry also urged the public to “use main roads only when necessary to maintain public safety and allow authorities to operate efficiently.”

Accoding to a news report, Bahrain’s Ministry of Education announces a temporary transition to distance learning starting tomorrow until further notice.
