Schools in the area have been locked down following reports of a shooting.
The Niagara Regional Police Service said: “Schools in the immediate area as well as the Welland Hospital are currently in lockdown as officers respond and address the situation.”
The District School Board of Niagara said no staff in Plymouth can leave the school, and no students or staff will be allowed in.
It wrote on X: “If you walk or drive your children to school, please keep them at home until further notification.”
The Catholic school board added students already on the bus will be dropped off at St. Andrew Catholic Elementary School, where parents can pick them up.
