Luke Littler continued the defence of his World Darts Championship title on Sunday evening as he took on NHS worker David Davies at Ally Pally.

At one point in the match, the crowd went wild after thinking Littler had taken out 170, with Davies also moving to walk off stage.

And after sweeping to a 3-0 victory, the teenage sensation admitted: “I was getting away with it. David missed 16 darts at double, but every dart he missed was crucial. If he hit them it was a completely different game, but I’m glad he missed and then, obviously, I’ve got the job done.

“I definitely enjoyed it tonight. Obviously the crowd in the first set thought I hit the 170 and then David thought I won the set, so it was a bit crazy.”
