Zara Tindall’s sweet connection with the late Queen she’s passing onto her children | Royal | News

Zara Tindall has followed in her royal mother and grandmother’s footsteps and dived into the equestrian world.

Now the late Queen’s eldest granddaughter has opened up about her plans in sharing this sweet connection with her children as well.

The mother-of-three may not have any royal titles, but she certainly has gained a fair amount of other titles – with one being Olympian medallist.

Zara, an accomplished equestrian, won a silver medal as a member of the Great Britain eventing team at the London 2012 Olympics.

Princess Anne, who was the first British royal to compete in the Olympics, presented her with the medal in a touching mother-daughter moment.

In an interview with PEOPLE magazine, Zara spoke about “the passion and love for horses that’s been passed down through our family”.

She added that the Princess Royal remains a keen horsewoman at 72, noting: “Our horses are in our family… There’s horses in her life and she does a bit of breeding as well. So there’s always horse conversation going on.”

Zara went on: “We’re very lucky to have [horses] in our lives… Any equestrian sport, that partnership between the horse and rider, or an owner and the horse is, it’s incredible.”

The mother-of-three went on to reveal that she hopes to share the same passion for the sport with her children, Mia, Lena and Lucas, whom she shares with husband Mike Tindall, as well as her brother Peter Phillips’s daughters, Savannah and Isla.

She said: “Both my nieces ride and they’re really into it at the moment.”
